
Newscaster shares story of hard work, success, with students
On Feb. 23 a group of 20 students from Chief Leschi High School’s WASL prep program attended a lecture by Lisa Ling at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. Lisa Ling, a former co-host of “The View,” a correspondent on “Oprah,” and host of “National Geographic Explorer,” was visiting Seattle to share her experiences reporting on global news stories. The field trip was made possible by the Native American and Alaska Native Children in Schools grant and “National Geographic Explorer.” Read more...

Martial arts students reach a milestone
The session on Feb. 2 for students in Puyallup Nation Martial Arts was a significant one. It began with the instructor, Robin Aguillon, presenting a patch with the name of the dojo (Japanese for club) on it, which they can have stitched to the back of the white uniforms they wear. Read more...
