Family owned and operated auto shop Burns Auto Body has made a lasting impact on the East Side community since the mid-1960s.
In December 2009, Burns Auto Body receiv-ed recognition as one of the top eight shops in the Puget Sound region, taking top honors in both quality and price.
Puget Sound Con-sumers CHECKBOOK magazine surveyed 140 auto body shops in the region on fair pricing, quality work and customer satisfaction. Burns Auto Body and Hi-Tech Collision of Tacoma made the final list with shops from Seattle, Burien, Poulsbo and Lynnwood.
Owner Darren Zachary said he was surprised to be ranked in the top eight shops out of 140 in the region, but he believes his shop truly does pride itself on honest, quality work.
Darren Zachary has worked for Burns since he was a teenager when his mother Patricia married original owner Danny Burns.
Darren Zachary took over ownership in 1987 and for more than a decade Burns has consistently
received recognition for its quality service and involvement in the local community.
Burns is able to provide quality work because of its high moral obligation to uphold the family name, and take care of customers as if they were part of the Burns family.
“I repair cars here as if they were my own. We’re not going to cut a corner to save a buck.”
Burns Auto Body has also been a longtime sponsor for East Side Boosters, community events, youth sports teams and the local Boys and Girls Club.
They also care for, repair and maintain all of the vehicles in the Puyallup Tribe of Indians’ fleet.
Burns offers lifetime warranties on all their jobs, free inspections for customers looking to purchase a used car, and works closely with customers on parts, pricing and labor line-by-line, before and after servicing the auto.
In addition to body work, Burns has full mechanic, maintenance and tow-
ing service available.
